MPS&A is pleased to officially announce a new Pharmaserv interface certification for Macro Helix 340B Architect, a web-based 340B management software platform that helps customers navigate the operational, financial and regulatory complexity of the 340B environment.

“This interface allows us to support customers who have developed partnerships with covered entities in an effort to provide patients more access to the professional services of a pharmacist in their local communities,” says Bernie Reese, VPGM ISMC segment. “It also provides access to a new revenue stream for customers who are not yet offering 340B services to hospitals and clinics in their area.”

Working directly with the the Macro Helix 340B Architect solution offers the following benefits:

  • Fully automated 340B-eligible prescription identification. Identifies 340B-qualified prescriptions at the point of dispense without any change in adjudication, patient discharge process or data entry.
  • Perpetual inventory replenishment designed to align 340B inventory ordering with overall pharmacy inventory management to help avoid inventory swell, product returns, and disruptions to the contract pharmacy's workflow.
  • Extensive reporting capabilities and detailed audit trails.
  • Ongoing daily reconciliation of collected revenue and dispensing fees.

To help achieve these benefits directly within Pharmaserv, the Macro Helix interface works with the application in the following ways:

  • Pharmaserv will accept 855 Purchase Order Acknowledgment transactions for 340B and non-340B Purchase Orders created by Macro Helix and will load them to Pharmaserv stores. This will allow stores to automatically update their On Hand Quantity when the 340B and non-340B shipments arrive from their Supplier.
  • Pharmaserv will generate 850 Purchase Order transactions and send them to Macro Helix. Macro Helix will split the Pharmaserv POs into 340B and non-340B POs and forward the split POs to the customer's Supplier.

It generally takes one week to configure and implement Macro Helix to Pharmaserv. Once implemented, Macro Helix provides all Tier 1 Support to its customers.
